The next EIC Meeting will be held in in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, between September 8th and 11th 2011.
The European Iron Club Annual Meeting Meeting, 2011 will be held in the Mercure Hotel, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium from September 8th-11th September 2011. The registration desk will be open from 12 noon on the 8th September, through to 12.00 on the 11th September 2011. All meals, coffee and tea breaks, receptions, concerts, etc. will take place there. Posters will also be shown in the building.
On the 11th September, 2008, a meeting of the European Haemochromatosis Society will be held in a lecture theatre in the University. Details will be given later.
EUROPEAN IRON CLUB MEETING 2011
The European Iron Club Meeting will commence at 18.00h on the 8th September. All registered participants at the EIC Meeting will receive an abstract book. There will be 10 Plenary lectures. These will be given by:

Selected Abstracts will be presented orally (12 min with 3 min discussion).
Posters will remain up for the entirety of the Meeting. Poster size is A0: 84,1cm (width) x 118,9cm (height).
On the evening of Thursday, the 8th September, there will be an opening Plenary Lecture by Kaila Srai, followed by a Welcome Reception and after dinner, a concert of World Music/Jazz (Colin Crichton and friends).
On the evening of Friday, the 9th September, after dinner there will be a Concert by the Trio A3 (Gillian Crichton, mezzo-soprano, Inge Spinette, piano and Katrina Crichton, violoncello) followed by a reception.
On Saturday, the 10th September, there will be a closing Plenary Lecture given by Clara Camaschella. Then we will have a Little Magic and a final Reception, which will be followed by the Banquet, and Award Presentations.
Travel to Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium
Here is some information concerning how to get to the Hotel ‘Relais Mercure’ in Louvain-la-Neuve from Brussels airport or railway station (Brussels Midi/Brussels Nord). In order to facilitate organisation at the Hotel, we would be grateful if you would let us know when you expect to arrive and to depart.
To get to the Hotel ‘Relais Mercure’ from Brussels airport (Zaventem) take a train ticket to Louvain-la-Neuve. There are four trains/hour to Brussels, and you should change at Brussels Nord. There you take the train to Ottignies (Direction Luxembourg) – two direct trains/hour. In Ottignies take the train to Louvain-la-Neuve. The Hotel is a 10 min walk from the station. We will include a map to show how to get to the hotel from the station in a later mail and will also put it on the web-site.
To get to the Hotel ‘Relais Mercure’ from Brussels South airport (Charleroi), take the bus from the airport to Brussels Midi station, and follow the details given below.
To get to the Hotel ‘Relais Mercure’ from Brussels South (Midi) or Nord (North) railway station take the train to Ottignies (Direction Luxembourg) – and follow instructions as indicated above.

An Abstract form is in one of the attachments. All Abstracts will be evaluated and a decision concerning whether presentation will be in oral or poster form will be communicated to the contributing author by mid July.
